Swinging large flies for Winter Steelhead

Yes, this is my passion in winter & spring on Vancouver Island. There's nothing more rewarding when flyfishing than the GRAB of a fresh Steelhead while swinging a fly! The fish in this picture was no exception, it hammered the large Pink Space Invader I tied on my clients line while fishing a pool we call The Tank! It's a long, slow swing that will leave you almost impatient and anxiouse to pull your fly out short of the full swing(Dangle) we call it. I recall watching 80ft of line getting cranked shortly after reassuring my sport to keep fishing through the pool. What a beauty fish!
